- Farmer’s issue
- Take on education system
- Run Time
Performance: Mahesh Babu has given his best performance in the role of Rishi. He excelled in the three variant looks. He looks good in comedy sequences and made them entertaining with his timing. Pooja Hegde looks gorgeous. Allari Naresh is fine in the role of Ravi. Meenakshi Dixit, Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha are fine. Jagapathi Babu has done good job.
Technical: Maharshi carries social message and the movie deals with education system and farmer’s problems. The cinematography by KU Mohanan is superb. Editing could be a lot better for better runtim. The art department has a done fine job. Action sequences are composed well. The production values are grand.
Analysis: The fight sequence of Mahesh Babu saving his friend is choreographed excellently. It is a perfect combination of action and emotion. The entire first half of Maharshi barring the intro and interval comprises of the college flashback. It lacks t entertainment. There are a couple of sequences which work well involving Mahesh Babu and Allari Naresh. Overall, an average first half. Second half is slow paced. Maharshi is social drama laced with commercial elements.
